My friend Robert Beatty, who does Resonant Hole and plays in some killer bands like Hair Police, Burning Star Core, Eyes and Arms of Smoke, and his solo zone Three-Legged Race, has contributed a guest mix that sounds like it has been dipped in opium and set out to dry. He also busted some nice looking art and a tracklist for this thing so you can follow along if things don’t get to hazy for you along the ride! This one could make it hard to find your way home. Word has it Robert is going to be selling some original art soon, so keep an eye on his site. His cover art graced my favorite record of 2008, Burning Star Core‘s Challenger.
You can download the mix HERE or click the play button to listen now.
Scans from “Love for Money”, a 1969 guidebook to prostitution houses and neighborhoods all across Germany with poorly-drawn maps and some great photos.
These are some photographs I took in February 2004 in Chicago at the Garfield Park Conservatory. Thanks to Mark Solotroff for introducing me to the place and taking me there on numerous visits. One of these shots found its way to the Hive Mind Vade Mecum CD cover, and a few others were/are slated for the as-yet-unreleased Elemental Disgrace LP cover.
An older collage became a new flier for this site due to its startling relevance. Created and produced entirely at home thanks to my formerly trusty & recently repaired Xerox XC1255 and the huge backlog of colored/metallic paper I have around here. These are printed on mustard, burgundy, flame and copper stock. Get at me if you want a stack to throw around. It is crude and crooked, just the way it should be. Grab/resize the image if you want to use it to link.
This is the interior design version of Spacemen 3’s “Taking drugs to make music to take drugs to” – completely insane, colorful and visually confusing rooms.
